A unique collaboration: The Eccentric Trembleur
In 2022, I felt the need to reconnect with my roots as a woodturner. I returned to the Escoulen School in France for a week of intensive training with Jean François Escoulen, focusing specifically on eccentric and off-center filming techniques.
Although I explored these methods during my 2018 diploma program at school, I needed a refresher and the opportunity to push the limits of my eccentric Escoulen chuck.
Convinced that Jean François’ advice would be valuable, I decided to dive back into the world of eccentric turning with him teaching me again.
After observing my approach during the first two days, Jean François surprised me with a unique proposal.
He recognized my comfort level with the Vicmark Escoulen chuck and techniques, and offered me the chance to collaborate on an off-center eccentric trembler – a concept I didn’t know existed!
I enthusiastically jumped at this incredible opportunity.
The success of this collaboration gave birth to a unique piece.
I cherish it in my personal collection.
