Neptune’s Vase

Scuplture – “Neptune’s Vase” NZ$ 389-00.

Sculpted and turned from a piece of driftwood (I suspect Pohutekawa) found on Waihi beach and mounted on a brass rod that swivels in a granite river stone found while fly fishing in the Kawerau forest. 

Finished with verdigris wax and polished with carnuba wax to highlight the red of the Pohutekawa and to remind one of the green of the New Zealand ocean.
