This set is one of the most unique items I have ever created. It is sourced from Ancient Swamp Kauri, wood that lay preserved in New Zealand peat swamps for up to 30,000 years. When you hold this set, you hold a piece of history older than civilization itself—it is truly irreplaceable.

The  Vision  I designed this set to showcase the incredible dual nature of this ancient wood:

• The Mortar (Golden Kauri): The main body is crafted from rich Golden Kauri, known for its warm, deep luster. Along its edge, I have meticulously inlaid a delicate band of wooden marquetry—a complex, time-consuming process that demonstrates the highest level of French woodworking technique.

• The Pestle (Green Kauri): The pestle is turned from the rarest find: a piece of Green Kauri. This striking, dark color is caused by minerals absorbed over millennia in the swamp, creating an exquisite and powerful contrast when paired with the golden mortar.

The skill of marquetry and the precision of the turning you see here is the standard I apply to every piece.
