“Comet of Kaos” is a dramatic exploration of movement, transformation, and personal narrative.
Turned as his final exam piece at the prestigious École Escoulen in France, this sculpture was born from laminated maple wood that was painstakingly turned, hollowed, cut, carved, textured, and airbrushed in fiery hues of black, purple, red, orange, and yellow.
Its star-shaped head and trailing textured tails evoke both celestial comets and ethereal jellyfish — a duality that sparks curiosity and conversation. The title “Kaos” is a deliberate play on the word Chaos, reflecting the artist’s personal turbulence in his personal life at the time and also during the exams.
Mounted on a steel rod and steel base, the sculpture sways subtly, capturing the sensation of cosmic movement. The base itself is encased in sandblasted Sequoia wood, its flowing grain lending an almost alien landscape texture, grounding the comet while reinforcing its energy and momentum.
This is not just a sculpture; it is the first in a series. Currently available at ARTelier de Guy in Carcassonne, France, “Comet of Kaos” represents the genesis of an evolving artistic journey — with each subsequent iteration different in shape, size, or colour, but all connected by inspiration and meaning.
